The Thursday program at the EKO Rally Acropolis: The Shakedown and the OAKA Superspecial

The program of the first day of the EKO Rally Acropolis 2022 starts very early, from five in the morning with the shakedown. However, the big event of the day is the EKO Super Special Stage in OAKA. The gates of the Athens Olympic Stadium for WRC fans will open from 4.30pm and the celebration will last late into the night. At OAKA, the start of the ECO Rally Acropolis takes place before the Super Special.

SHAKE DOWN

• Length: 3.62 km.
• Route closing time: 04:56

DESCRIPTION: Representative of the circuits, the first part of the shakedown, although on a hard surface, is fast with technical corners. Then, as it goes uphill, the road widens and the route remains technical and fast.

ACCESS FOR SPECTATORS

Since there is no intermediate access for the shakedown, it is recommended to board from the finish on foot, having previously parked on the Lamia-Domokos road.

THE INFORMATION: Find your vantage point 30 minutes before the special route begins, as the road is closed to traffic afterward.

EKO SUPER RATING OAK

It is a 1.95-kilometre paved, parallel special course set up within the playing field of the Athens Olympic Stadium, where the 70 racing crews will compete in pairs.

Those who didn’t manage to secure a spot on the field can watch this spectacular spectacle directly from ERT as well as through the COSMOTE TV pop-up channel dedicated to the EKO Rally Acropolis.

• At 4:30 p.m., route reconnaissance for the 3rd crew group begins. It’s worth noting that crews write their notes either on foot or by scooter.
• At 17:00 the e-Sports WRC World Final will take place in OAKA’s Kasimatis Hall – for the second year in a row in Greece. This is the virtual WRC championship, which, among other things, creates even more perspectives for motorsport in order to get closer to young people who have developed close contact with esports.
• At 18:30, the best rally drivers in the world, as well as drivers of all categories participating in the EKO Rally Acropolis, will meet sports fans at the Rally Village of OAKA (near the stadium, by the side of L. Irini). to give autographs.
• At 6:30 p.m., OAKA is “infused” with the sounds of Athens DeeJay 95.2, with Michalis Tsausopoulos on decks taking the pulse just before the game begins.
• At 19:00 dignitaries on the circuit will ride a Ford Fiesta Rally 3 Junior WRC from M-Sport Poland.
• At 19:45, the championship’s top category drivers gather on the field for a commemorative photo in front of tens of thousands of spectators.

The presentation will be attended by journalist Antonis Schroiter, known for his passion for motorsport. Alongside him, journalists Takis Pournarakis, Panagiotis Seitanidis and Panagiotis Triantafyllidis will be providing viewers with every moment of the action for commentary on the race and interviews with the drivers.
