With a series of digitally processed photos, Haas became the first team to unveil the new design of the Formula 1 cars for 2022 and presented the VF-22, led by Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin.

The physical presentation of the VF-22, which will reveal its first real images, will take place at the start of Formula 1’s winter development testing on February 23 in Barcelona. Until then, the American team gives us a first idea for the overall design of the all-new 2022 cars.

In particular, it shows the form the cars will take following the radical change in technical regulations that prompted teams to design them in white – rather than by refining their previous year’s car, as has been the case for the past five years .

The Haas VF-22, which in turn will use its Ferrari powertrain this year, comes with very high expectations. The team was completely erased in 2021 to devote all its resources and infrastructure to this car, hoping to return to the battle of medium dynamic teams from this year.

The team’s American owner, Carl Haas, opened a new design center in Europe, specifically next to the Ferrari factory in Maranello, headed by former Scuderia designer Simone Resta.

The changes compared to the 2021 cars focus on the new front and rear wings, the larger wheels, but also on the overall management of the body layout – the side air intakes and the engine cover.

In addition to the design, Haas also showed the colors that the VF-22 will have this year. They are largely unchanged and refer to the colors of the Russian flag of the group’s main sponsor Uralkali.
