This is the beginning of the Italian F1 GP 2022
The atmosphere was tense. With Poleman Charles Leclerc’s all pending tifosi and Max Verstappen coming from seventh, the excitement in the stands was maxed out. and even on the track. And the Transalpine fans began to roar with joy as they watched the Monegasque driver defend his first place strongly against a very aggressive George Russell at the first corner.
The British tried it on the outside and the two cars almost made contact. George had to take an inside run-off at Turn 1, with Charles picking up the pace and trying to get away.
But behind him was Verstappen. Max started in his 6th position and moved up his 3 positions in one lap, and on lap 3 he was already in 3rd. He passed Russell by just five laps and began chasing Leclerc, who was two seconds behind.
Fernando Alonso lost his position to Verstappen on the first lap and finished 7th, while Sainz, who had been penalized for an engine change from 18th, started a spectacular comeback. He failed to make any gains on the first lap and, wanting to avoid the risk, began to make gains, taking 12th in the first 12 laps to take 6th.
