Alonso repeats Raikkonen’s F1 record
This season’s Italian stage was for the 349th Grand Prix of Formula 1 driver Alpin Fernando Alonso’s career. Speaking on the track in Monza, the Spaniard caught the record held by Kimi Raikkonen.
Recall that Alonso and Raikkonen made their Royal debut on the same day – in 2001, at the Australian Grand Prix. Later, Alonso took a break from his performances in Formula 1 and switched to endurance racing. Raikkonen ended his career last season.
Fernando Alonso in Monza failed to reach the finish line. He retired due to mechanical problems with the car. The winner of the stage became the driver of Red Bull Max Verstappen. The Dutch are leading in the individual standings with 335 points. He is 116 points ahead of second-placed Charles Leclerc. Alonso has 59 credits.
