Relaunch by Chip Ganassi Racing Brings Soap Opera Palou to an End
July’s soap opera, featuring Alex Palou, McLaren F1 Team and Chip Ganassi Racing, ended with Wednesday’s announcement that the San Antonio de Villamagor driver and Ganassi team will continue to work together in 2023. He will stay in IndyCar for another year, with his future on the F1 grid for now.
The lawsuit went to court after the Chip Ganassi Racing Team announced it would unilaterally renew the driver, which he denied and was confirmed by McLaren.But after weeks of negotiations, the Woking people announced Oscar Piastri as Lando Norris’ partner, Palou and Ganassi were destined to understand each other and reach an agreement.
The two will continue to race together in IndyCar in 2023, with Alex getting clearance from Chip Ganassi to test with McLaren. In principle, it will take place at the Catalunya circuit, but no date has been confirmed. Patrick O’Ward will also participate.

With the move to Palou, Arrow McLaren SP has announced the final composition of its IndyCar team of Pato O’Ward, Alexander Rossi and Felix Rosenqvist.
