Nico Terrol appointed as new sporting director of GasGas Aspar Team

The 33-year-old, formerly sporting advisor to the Asper Team Juniors, will replace Gino Borsoy, who has been the team’s sporting director since 2006 and was destined for the Pramac team.
The team recalls that Nico Terrol’s career is tied to Jorge Martinez ‘Asper’. He made his minibike debut in Formula Airtel (the cradle of the current champions) in 1999 with the aim of taking the young driver to the World Cup.
Terol mysteriously qualified for the World Championship in the 2004 Valencia Community Grand Prix with Gino Borsoy’s team.
In 2011 and 2010 he became the last 125cc world champion after starting the road again with Jorge Martinez ‘Asper’.
Now, and in 2017 and beyond, Nico Terol is a sports advisor for Aspar Team Junior. In nearly six seasons under his leadership, the team won the Moto3 Junior World Championship three times, the European Talent Cup once, the Red Bull Rookies Cup once and two in Spain.
