Nakagami suspicious for Japan after losing Marquez
Japanese pilot Takaaki Nakagami Caught in a race incident with a factory mate on lap 1 (LCR Honda Idemitsu) Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) At Turn 8, the home Grand Prix at Motegi this weekend is in doubt.
After being cured at Motorland Aragón’s Mobile Clinic, doctors marked him ‘unfit’ for records due to a deep laceration on his right hand. If he shows up at Motegi, he has to “fit” for the Grand Prix.
The pilot from Chiba netted the cumbersome bandages he wears around his right hand due to lacerations to his ring and pinky fingers.
“Now I’m going to Barcelona to check for an injury to my ring finger and ring finger on my right hand. I will keep everyone informed. I really appreciate the support of the fans. I will try to recover as much as possible. So that I can race at my home GP in Japan.”
An incident between the two Honda riders occurred at the fifth corner after Marquez made contact with Quartararo.
Mark describes touch as follows: “I noticed something was wrong at Turn 5 because I noticed the bike was not going well and I was even a bit away at Turn 7. Nakagami passed me on the inside for a long run. Already fully leading, I put the rear gear down and when I put it down you can see it in the image, the debris flew and that’s when the rear wheel is blocked.”
“When the wheels locked, the bike could have gone right or left, but it went left. I was braking so I wasn’t just in contact, I was a little bit ahead and the bike was slowing down and the crash was very dangerous because if you rely on a mechanical failure it’s usually will result in an unexpected crash.”
