Alpha Tauri has announced Tsunoda for 2023
Yuki Tsunoda has renewed his contract with Alpha Tauri for the new Formula 1 season, the Japanese’s third season in the sport, the Faenza team officially announced.
His trademark Yuki Tsunoda suggests Pierre Gasly is heading to Alpine for 2023 as it has emerged that Red Bull (mother Alpha Tauri) Academy leader Helmut Marko has already met Nick de Vries and signed the contract in place of the young Dutchman for one The new season has taken its place at Alpha Tauri.
Gasli is still under contract with the Faenza team for the new year but there is clear information that Alpine and Red Bull have reached an agreement to terminate the contract – with appropriate compensation – so Gasli can become the driver to replace Fernando Alonso will be the French team next year.
Back to Tsunoda, Red Bull and Alpha Tauri’s confidence in his speed – with the new contract – didn’t seem to have been shaken. The young Japanese has shown quite competitive performances at times this year and what is yet to be found is consistency in his performance.
Additionally, it’s possible that Red Bull’s resumption of negotiations with Honda played a role in his staying with AT after the Austrian company’s talks with Porsche for a possible partnership in 2026 finally collapsed.
Franz Tost, Director of Alpha Tauri, said: “From what we’ve seen since he joined our team last year, Yuki is a very talented rider and has improved a lot this year.
The speed he has shown lately is a clear testament to his rapid development and learning and shows that he deserves a place in the F1 And I expect some very strong results from him in the last six races of 2022.”

Former Ferrari driver Arturo Merzario has spoken harshly about Charles Leclerc and his role in the Italian team.
The Italian, famous for saving Niki Laudi from a burning car after an accident at the Nürburgring in 1976, said:
“Leclerc got a seat at Ferrari that he didn’t deserve at the time. He’s a very good racer like any other. If you put more than one name in a hat and take one out, they’re all pretty much the same. He’s not special.”
This season the Monegasque edged out seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton at the Hungarian Grand Prix to take all seven of Ferrari’s podiums and claim the team’s only pole position. But for Merzario this does not matter:
“There’s no point in boasting about being ahead of a seven-time world champion like Hamilton, because Lewis took his foot off the gas because he felt he wasn’t integrated into the team. Why would he give 110% under those circumstances?”
Merzario concluded his words with an even stronger statement:
“If Enzo Ferrari were alive, he wouldn’t even walk through the doors of Maranello, I’m sure. He wouldn’t even be accepted as a customer.”

Seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher took first place in the ranking of the richest drivers in the history of Royal Racing, Racing News 365 reports with reference to GQ Sports.
The German pilot’s fortune is estimated at $790 million.
Second on this list is seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton ($304 million). In third place is two-time championship winner Spaniard Fernando Alonso ($264 million).
World champion Kimi Raikkonen (254 million) took fourth place in the ranking, three-time champion Niki Lauda (203 million) was in fifth place.
