It was strange that Alfa Romeo didn’t make it official beforehand, but it was taken for granted, but finally what was expected has come true. The Swiss structure announced a one-year renewal of Zhou Guan Yu for 2023 on Tuesday.

Zhou (30 May 1999, Shanghai, China) took to social media on Tuesday: “It’s been a really crazy year, but I’m proud of everything we’ve achieved as a team so far. More miles. Let’s keep working together to reach the stone.” .

The 23-year-old Chinese driver joined the MD at Monza a few weeks ago. At the time, he assured that everything looked “promising” in terms of negotiations and said the team was “satisfied” with their progress on the first course. In F1, that feeling was at odds with the group’s work.

“My goal for the first year was to learn and improve my skills, but there will come a time when I want to fight for the podium more than just scoring points. But before I take that step now, I’m here to make sure everything works out when I’m younger,” he told the newspaper.

“I have achieved all the goals I set for myself this year: to reach Q3 and score some points…and I am happy with the progress I have made. But from the inside, all is very intense,” he added in an interview.
