With pink neon colors and cyberpunk designs on their bodywork, the two McLaren MCL36 will make very different appearances at the Singapore GP in the next three days (30/9-2/10) and in Japan a week later.

McLaren is entering cyberspace with its so-called “Future Mode” livery, and with it the psyche of Southeast Asia’s youth, for the marketing purposes of its main sponsor OKX – to celebrate the return of Formula 1 to this geographic region after 2019 and the three years of the coronavirus.

Along with the two cars, they will share the same colors and racing uniforms of Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo – who have even been rendered, through digital processing, as if they were the heroes of a digital RPG.

It’s fantastic to be returning to Singapore and Japan to race again at these amazing circuits which provide a fitting backdrop to celebrate our shared vision [με την ΟΚΧ]‘ said McLaren F1 manager Zak Brown, among others.

As OKH Head of Marketing Haider Rafiq explained, this futuristic McLaren livery for the two Asian races is “marks the arrival of a bold new technology that OKX also stands for. Our cyber punk design celebrates the influence of Web 3 on modern culture“.

From October, this coloring of the McLaren cars will of course also be available in the video game F1 2022.
