Verstappen predicted his chances of becoming champion in Singapore next weekend
Max Verstappen, 24, from the Netherlands, talked about what he can expect from the Singapore Grand Prix, which will be held from September 30 to October 2. He admitted that he had not considered a possible championship, although he understood that it was possible.
“We haven’t played in Singapore for a long time, so it will be interesting to see how the circuit has developed over that time. It’s definitely one of the best races of the year and it’s simply great. It’s important to have a good qualifying lap at a circuit like this, so we’re going to focus on that.
During the race we have to be ready for anything because there are usually a lot of safety cars here. Overall, this is a difficult track where humidity plays a major role. It is very difficult to drive a perfect circle due to tight turns and how close the walls are. As for a possible championship, I don’t really think about it, but I just want to have a great weekend and race after race. There’s no rush,” said Verstappen.
Max Verstappen is currently 116 points ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in the 2022 overall standings.
