Japanese duel in Moto3 Free Practice 2 of Thailand GP. Unlike FP1 in the morning, which was on the water, the session was held in mixed conditions and everyone was able to improve their times in the afternoon. Ayumu Sasaki (Husqvarna) beat compatriot Itsuki Suzuki (Honda), who was best in Free 1, on the last lap.

Sasaki set the best time of 1’43.503 on the last lap, 191 thousandths faster than Suzuki, with Italian Ricardo Rossi (Honda) in third, almost 90.9ths. Behind them, Spaniards Daniel Holgado (KTM) and Jaume Macia (KTM) are over nine tenths behind.

World leader Spain’s Izan Guevara (Gasgas) achieved the 7th fastest time with 1.067 from Sasaki, ahead of Ivan Ortola. The final provisional time for direct competition Q2.

Moto3’s second free practice session began with rain again on the asphalt at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram. We went in and the asphalt dried quickly and we were able to start on slicks. The forecast for Saturday was also rain, so we had to take advantage of that.
