Pilots of AKKodis ASP Team became champions of GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup
Pilots of the AKKodis ASP Team, which included Timur Boguslavsky and Konstantin Tereshchenko in various competitions this year, became champions of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup series. The decisive race of the championship – “3 hours of Barcelona” – was held this weekend at the circuit, which traditionally hosts the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix.
The victory in the three-hour marathon was won by the Dinamic Motorsport crew, consisting of Klaus Bahler, Alessio Picarillo and Matteo Cairoli, who piloted the No. 54 Porsche. In second place was the Ferrari No. 71, which was driven by Iron Lynx pilots Alessandro Pierguidi, Alessio Rovera and Antonio Fuoco , and the bronze medalists were representatives of the Emil Frey Racing crew at Lamborghini No. 63 – Jack Aitken, Albert Costa and Mirko Bortolotti.
Raffaele Marchiello, Daniel Juncadella and Jules Gunon in the No. 87 Mercedes of the AKKodis ASP Team finished fifth, but that was enough to overtake the Iron Lynx drivers in the overall standings and win the championship.
Another crew of the AKKodis ASP Team — it was piloted in this race by Kasper Stevenson, Thomas Drouet and Tommaso Mosca — took the 21st position of the “absolute” and became the ninth among the participants in the Silver Cup standings.
The race in Barcelona was also attended by the Russian Alexei Malykhin, who piloted the Porsche of the Allied Racing team. Malykhin’s crew crossed the finish line in 34th position, but finished second in the Pro-Am Cup category.
Other participants include the legendary motorcycle racer Valentino Rossi, who took sixth place as part of Team WRT in Audi No. 46, as well as ex-Formula 1 pilot Giancarlo Fisichella, whose crew rounded out the second ten finishers.
