MotoGP expands in country of 178 million motorcycles
Manufacturer demands Grand Prix in IndiaThe Buddha circuit, 40km from New Delhi, features Marc Marquez, Quartararo and friends. Create 55,000 jobs. The impact of such events exceeds his $100 million. EFE visited the area.
“All our manufacturers have told us specifically about India and their interest in visiting the country. (…) Manufacturers understand that it has a lot of potential,” said Sporting Director of Dorna, the Spanish company responsible for organizing MotoGP for more than 30 years. Carlos Ezpeleta explained to EFE.
“It’s a market where a lot of motorcycles are consumed, and manufacturers will consume more motorcycles in general and their own brands if they adopt MotoGP,” he added.
That door opened earlier this year when Indian race promoter Fairstreet Sports contacted Dorna. He expressed interest in bringing the best drivers on the planet to India by hosting the Grand Prix at the Buddha International Circuit, about 40 kilometers from New Delhi.
The final decision was announced last weekend.India became the 31st country to host a MotoGP race when Dorna officially announced the calendar debut of the Bharat Grand Prix (India in Hindi) from 2023.
major motorcycle markets
The world’s largest market for two-wheeled vehicles, with approximately 178 million motorcycles on the road, Pushkar Nath, director of operations at Fairstreet Sports, told EFE that these figures are not a true follow-up to the motorcycle world championship in a country with few elite riders.
“At the moment, people are aware of MotoGP, but not many people follow it.
To spark that interest, they are planning tours of “nearly 25 cities” organizing activities A small motorcycle tour to promote participation in the Grand Prix scheduled to be held from September 22nd to 24th, which will be the beginning of the Asia Tour.
The inclusion of India follows the championship’s recent expansion strategy into Southeast Asia, following the addition of Thailand in 2018 and Indonesia this season. Motorcycles are the main means of transportation in all these countries.
But Ezpeleta is well aware that MotoGP does not have roots in India. It claims there is “a tremendous interest (and) love for pilots” compared to other countries in the region, but believes it is a “great opportunity to grow.”
economic boost
With this fine organization of awards, India intends above all to promote international tourismcreate jobs and promote the ‘Indian’ brand while bringing Marc Márquez, Fabio Quartararo and Francesco Bagnaia closer to motorcycle enthusiasts in a country of 1.4 billion people.
“India boosts tourism industry trying to recover from covid, lots of foreign tourists coming There are also many Indian tourists. People don’t just come for the race, they visit different places. The Taj Mahal is just an hour and a half away from the circuit,” he said.
Promoter data shows an average crowd of 150,000 at a MotoGP Grand Prixhosted 22.5% of its international fans, spending an average of $920 on weekends. That’s more than double his $445 spent by local fans.
Additionally, Nath estimates that the race could indirectly create an additional 50,000 jobs in areas such as hospitality.Restoration or technology, apart from the approximately 5,000 jobs required to develop each grand prize. In total, the impact of such events is just over $100 million, of which 21% indirectly contributes to the grand prize. It will be spent on related activities, according to the promoter.
learn from mistakes
Despite debuting in the MotoGP World Championship, the Buddha Track hosted several national competitions from 2011 to 2013, hosting Formula 1’s ‘Great Circus’, but was in conflict with the local government of Uttar Pradesh. removed from the calendar after a dispute with .
The vision of the authorities seeing Formula 1 as a pastime rather than a sport meant a drastic increase in the taxes that organizers had to pay, added customs issues and meant the end of the Grand Prix. By acknowledging the race as “a sporting event,” Nass was confident that these mistakes would not be repeated.
“We have been with the government and they have confirmed that they will do everything in their power to help the people of Fair Street and they have told us that we are doing well. They should be fine. They were the ones who gave us that assurance,” Ezpeleta said.

David’s son Luca Villa makes his debut in La Liga FC Futures
Lucas VillaAt just 12 years old, he is one of the exciting players selected by Atletico Madrid’s coaching staff. Liga FC Futures what is being played in Gran Canaria Stadium (Las Palmas).
The last name is not deceiving. The son of David Villa, who played as a forward for Sporting de Gijón, Zaragoza, Valencia, FC Barcelona, Atleti, Melbourne City, New York City and Vissel Kobe, has scoring in his blood. ‘Guahé’ only wore the red and white shirt for one season, but he left his mark on the fans. They won the historic league game 13-14 and were just short of qualifying for the Champions League. For Kouhaku fans who are currently excited about “Mini Guaju”, it was a year that didn’t really feel that way.

Although Luka is a forward, he prefers to drop to the flanks, as Spain’s No. 7 did at the World Cup, which his team won. In his case, he is left-handed, so he tends to the left side, but he also plays defense in the center. He has a sense of smell for goals, which is one of the traits a person is born with or not. He could hit from anywhere and dominated the aerial duel with powerful shots from outside the area. A few months ago, he had already said that he wanted to be like his father and Fernando Torres. It’s clear that Mattresses’ DNA runs through his veins.
In their debut in La Liga, FC Futures repeatedly missed their mark, pressed from high positions and were inside the playing area which ended in an own goal that led to a goal. The best is yet to come.
