Verstappen won the rain race in Japan. Max is a champion!
top 10Cast: Verstappen, Leclerc, Perez, Ocon, Hamilton, Vettel, Alonso, Russell, Latifi, Norris
The race was held as part of the Japanese Grand Prix. At the same time, the pilots spent only one lap due to heavy rain in the first place, after which the safety car left and red flags were announced.
The racers stayed in the pits for a long time and although the time limit did not seem to allow the race to be held, the management decided to start.
The drivers managed to complete 28 laps and Max Verstappen was the winner. Red Bull driver was ahead of Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc.
In the end, Leclerc finished second, but made a mistake and nearly knocked out Perez, for whom he received a 5-second penalty and lost 2nd place. And that brought Verstappen an early title!
Formula 1 unexpectedly decided to score full points (but only 28 laps were made), which is why Verstappen is a two-time champion!
We note the 4th place of Esteban Ocon, who held Lewis Hamilton behind for a long time and managed to score many points for Alpin together with Fernando Alonso.
Also, Nicholas Latifi got his first points of the season.
