Red Bull violated the spending limit rule. F-1 punished the Bulls
Formula 1 and the FIA have officially announced that the Red Bull team has violated the spending cap rule for the 2021 season. The bulls have not reached the $145 million ceiling.
However, the excess was only 2.2 million, so the penalty will be minimal.
Red Bull will not lose points in the Constructors’ Championship, but must pay a $7 million fine and also lose 10% of their wind tunnel times in preparation for the 2023 season.
This season, Red Bull dominates the championship: driver Max Verstappen wins the title and the team takes the Constructors’ Championship.
