Aston Martin: Vandoorne announced as backup driver for 2023
Aston Martin has announced the addition of Stoffel Vandoorne as a backup driver for 2023, completing its foursome.
Aston Martin has announced its addition Stoffel Vandoorne for 2023 thus closes its four drivers. The first two will be Alonso and Stroll, while the 30-year-old Belgian will take on the role of substitutes and, of course, development leaders, along with Felipe Drugovic.
It is worth noting that Vandoorne will continue to compete normally in Formula E, where he won the title with Mercedes EQ. In fact, he will drive for DS Penske in the new season.
For those who don’t remember, we emphasize that the Belgian has experience in Formula 1, as he sat in the McLaren car for two full seasons (2017, 2018) and also took part in the Bahrain Grand Prix for the same team in 2016.
From 2021 to today it is the Mercedes emulation guide.
