Russell wins sprint in Brazil, Verstappen failure, Mercedes success
top 8: Russell, Sainz (+5 penalty positions), Hamilton, Verstappen, Perez, Leclerc, Norris, Magnussen
The sprint race was held as part of the Brazilian Grand Prix. The winner of Sunday’s race, which set the starting grid, was Mercedes driver George Russell.
The Briton started third, but after contact with Carlos Sainz managed to lead only 4th ahead of Max Verstappen.
Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton were closed in the top 3, but due to the Spanish driver’s suspension, Lewis will start the race second.
Kevin Magnussen, who sensationally won Saturday’s qualifiers, finished 8th and earned a point.
