The Historic Acropolis Rally, one step ahead of the European Championship
To complete the return of Greek racing to the European institution of the FIA, all that remains is the approval of the 2023 program by the World Motorsport Council.
The Acropolis Historic Rally has been voted for inclusion in the 2023 European Historic Rally Championship by the members of the relevant FIA Committee. This was of course preceded by the extremely successful revival of the Greek classic car race last summer as a candidate for inclusion in the international programme.
To complete the return of the Historic Acropolis Rally to the European institution of the FIA, all that remains is the approval of the 2023 program by the World Motorsport Council, the International Federation’s central decision-making body for the races.
Based on the program of the Historic Rallies of the New Year, the Greek race will probably not be held as traditional took place in the summer and the most likely date for its organization is the third weekend of October 2023.
Following the return of the Acropolis Rally to the WRC program, the inclusion of the Acropolis Historic Rally in the European Historic Rally Championship program in 2023 will be another great moment for Greek motorsport upon completion.
