The new Jeep Grand Cherokee comes to Europe exclusively as a hybrid
With a 2-liter turbocharged petrol engine, 2 electric motors and 380 hp, the new model is the most efficient Grand Cherokee ever.
Launched in the US last September, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee will be pure hybrid.
For the first time in its history, the large SUV will be equipped exclusively with Jeep’s 4xe plug-in hybrid system and will be the greenest and most capable 4×4 Grand Cherokee ever.
The hybrid system combines a 2-litre turbo petrol engine with two electric motors and offers a combined output of 380 hp and 637 Nm. Thanks to the 400-volt battery with a capacity of 17 kWh, the system enables purely electric driving for journeys of up to 51 km.
Also high are the promised 4×4 capabilities of the new model, which comes with the Quadra-Drive II all-wheel drive system, Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Terrain traction management system with five options of Auto, Snow, Sand/Mud, Rock and Sport.
The 5th generation Jeep Grand Cherokee features an imposing exterior and a modern and extremely spacious interior.
The dashboard impresses with its three screens: the 10″ screen of the digital instrument panel, the 10″ screen of the Uconnect5 multimedia system and the 10.25″ screen in front of the passenger.
Also impressive is the McIntosh sound system with 19,950 watt speakers and customizable LED interior lighting. The equipment also includes amenities such as the 10” colored Head Up Display, the night vision camera and the digital center mirror.
The new Grand Cherokee is also cautious when driving. Its complete package of assistance systems (ADAS) ensures the possibility of autonomous driving level 2. This includes technologies such as autonomous parking and autonomous braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection.
In addition, through the Jeep application, the driver can remotely check the condition of the vehicle, but also various other functions such as locks, air conditioning, lights, etc., through the mobile phone.
Pre-orders for the new Grand Cherokee Launch Edition begin now in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, UK, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, followed by other European markets including Greece.
