Nissan’s new weapon for Formula E
The third generation of Nissan’s electric car makes its debut at testing in Valencia ahead of the start of Season 9 of the Formula E Championship.
The Nissan Formula E Team has unveiled the third generation (Gen3) of its car for the 9th season of the Formula E Championship take place at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia.
According to the team, which is competing as a single entity in Formula E for the first time, the bold design features a cherry blossom motif and a “nod” to Nissan’s Japanese DNA.
At the same time, the arrival of drivers Norman Nato and Saha Fenestraz for the 2022-2023 season marks a fresh start for the Nissan Formula E Team, which combines experience with youthful enthusiasm. French Nato will drive car #17, while Franco-Argentine Fenestraz will drive car #23.
The pre-season testing will also mark the first time the Nissan-powered NEOM McLaren Formula E Team has officially competed in Formula E.
Nissan, one of the pioneers of electrification, but also with the valuable experience gained from its participation in the all-electric ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, has set a target of electrifying its upcoming models and achieving carbon neutrality by the early 2030s in its operation and the life cycle of its products until 2050.
