Spooky: Pilots struggling to cross a river made of rain!
Stage 3 had to be neutralized at 378 kilometers before covering the 470-kilometer special scheduled for this Tuesday. The rain hit Hayl and its surroundings heavily. The bivouac was flooded and had multiple puddles along its entire length, but the worst was experienced on the special. Some pilots have appeared in terrifying images and fallen hard while trying to cross rivers formed by the natural direction the water has taken… this day.
Some riders have had very difficult moments, as the Dakar account on Twitter shows. For example, a side-by-side (light vehicle) was seen crossing a river that had formed with the car half submerged. Cristina Gutierrez also left her wheels on the banks of that river and later got stuck in the water, the truck was seen kicking up the water in its path. But most of all, ‘Chaleco’ López tried to get out of the car and walk forward, and suffered serious difficulty maintaining an upright position against the force of the water while the hull moved from one side to the hull. It was impressive to see you in. other. The rain made Stage 3 a nightmare for many drivers. This is all after a very difficult Stage 2 full of stones, rocks and dirt roads.
