Aristotle Racing Team: The AUTh team that has qualified for four European competitions
The student team from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, which builds its own car, qualified for four European competitions.
On January 28th, the Aristotle Racing Team was invited to compete against another 614 teams worldwide to qualify for the Formula Student competition. ART was able to pass five of the six competitions this year. However, he decided to go to the four and in particular to the competitions in Italy from July 13-17, in the Czech Republic from July 18-24, in Hungary from August 8-12 and to the competition in Germany from July 15th to 21st to go route Hockenheimring. In the Hungarian competition, the team actually managed to get first place in the world in its category.
The process for a team to qualify for the Formula Student competition consists of some competition tests. Specifically, these quizzes test members’ knowledge of the construction rules of the Formula Student competitions, but also of mechanical, electronic and financial issues. In many cases, preference is given to the fastest and most correct.
The ART team tries every day to optimize the car’s performance so that it can achieve its goals and win important places in competitions. The goal is to design, design and build a fully functional racing car that complies with FSAE regulations.
ART is a student-only initiative that has consolidated its participation worldwide after 20 successful participations in Formula SAE races, including 3rd place overall in the 2019 Netherlands race. Recent achievements include 2nd place in the business plan competition in the Formula Student East competition and 4th place in the Skidpad competition in the Formula Student Czech competition (summer 2021).
student formula
The Formula Student competition is organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), a series of international races involving student teams from universities around the world, using innovative techniques and advanced technical analysis to build a high-performance car. Each year, students build a race car from scratch and test it on the track. ART team members work full-time to design, sponsor, build and ultimately compete with other international student teams, alongside their rigorous academic program.
The official Formula Student racing year begins in mid-May with the oldest competition in Michigan, USA. The Formula Student competition on the legendary Silverstone circuit in Northampton, England marks the start of the European races.
