Bautista caps dream weekend in Australia with exhibition
3 out of 3. Alvaro Bautista (Ducati) signed a spectacular plenary session at Phillip Island this Sunday.Round weekend saw the Spanish driver start the championship as the clear leader with a commanding victory in race two.
This time Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Ducati) finished second and Andrea Locatelli finished on the podium.
The Ducati duo used their privileged position on the grid to take command after signing a 1-2 finish in the sprint race when the traffic lights go out. His third rider on the front row, he Toprak Razgatlioglu (Yamaha) had a poor start and lost several positions in the opening minutes. Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team World SBK) also started from the 3rd row and made great progress.
Halfway through the test, Bautista gained an advantage of around three seconds over Rinaldi.Locatelli also settled in 3rd place, but a little further away.
The battle took place in a chase group, with Lowes, Rea, Bassani and Razgatlioglu with a knife in their mouth for fourth place, while Phillip Oettl (Team GoEleven) picked up the pace and joined the quartet. But the field broke dramatically when Lowes lost control of his ZX-10RR at Turn 4 and took Razgatlioglu, who was unable to avoid mounting the British rider.
There was no change in podium position, but there were more changes in the chasing pack towards the end of the race.Ettl overtook Rea, who was clearly struggling to keep pace, and moved into fifth behind Bassani. Iker Lecuona (Team HRC) was also able to overtake his six-time Kawasaki champion with two laps to go.
An unstoppable Bautista all weekend, dry or wet, he crossed the finish line six seconds ahead of Rinaldi. It was the third of the weekend and the eighth of his WorldSBK career to claim victory, a new record for a rider to win on this stage.
Talavellano also signed his fifth ‘hat-trick’, the second for Australia after the one he did in 2019.was an unprecedented success among WorldSBK riders until this past Sunday.
Iker Lecuona fought a variety of battles over 22 laps. It all started with an official first duel with the Kawasaki before colliding with Bassani on lap 10 while battling for eighth place.
The Valencian made progress in the final third of the race to pass sixthahead of rookie Dominique Aegerter (GYTR GRT Yamaha World SBK Team).
Bautista after achieving a ‘hat trick’ With 34 points for Locatelli and 31 for Rhea, 62 points put Phillip Island at the top of the World Cup with a considerable advantage.Razgatlioglu is sixth with 23 and Lecuona is seventh with 22.

VIDEO. F1 pilot lost control during testing at Ferrari track
Oliver Berman and the Haas team suffered an unfortunate incident during the first run of the new Haas VF-26 at Ferrari’s Fiorano circuit.
The British pilot was spinning at low speed but was able to continue the race, unlike Racing Bulls’ Arvid Lindblad.
Haas becomes the seventh team to field its 2026 car ahead of official testing in Barcelona; McLaren, Red Bull, Aston Martin and Williams have yet to do this.

Charles Leclerc reveals details of Ferrari’s first test in 2026
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc confirmed that the team did not encounter any serious problems during the races of the new Ferrari SF-26 car.
On Friday morning, the Maranello team unveiled its first car under the 2026 Formula 1 rules at the Fiorano test track. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc took a spin behind the wheel of the new car.
Since the races were held on wet asphalt, Hamilton was the first to hit the track in difficult weather conditions. Despite this, hundreds of tifosi gathered in Fiorano a few hours before the presentation to watch the SF-26’s debut live.
Leclerc took the wheel after Hamilton, but the Monegasque admitted that he could not fully feel the car’s behavior due to limited mileage and weather conditions. But the main task of the day was completed – the car started stably.
“Yes, I look forward to this day every year. The main aim is to make sure that everything works correctly and there are no major problems. That’s exactly what happened today, so it’s a positive thing,” Leclerc said.
According to Charles, it is too early to talk about the speed or feel of the car:
“From a performance perspective, it is too early to draw any conclusions. The conditions were not the best: fog and a wet track. This is not an ideal scenario for the first test.”
“It was very exciting because there is a huge amount of work behind it. It’s important to see real sensor data for the first time and make sure the car behaves as we expect it to.”

Absolute domination. Ukrainian driver wins second stage victory in F4
The last race of the second stage of Formula 4 Middle East (UAE4) was held. Ukrainian driver Alexander Bondarev, a youngster at the Williams Racing F1 team academy and driver for the Mumbai Falcons, is participating in the prestigious off-season championship.
The Ukrainian started from pole position and won in qualifying. The pilots spent the first part of the race behind the safety car, but the restart was made 15 minutes before the finish.
After the start of the race, Bondarev immediately took the lead. While his main rivals Scott Lindblom and Andy Kosandi were fighting among themselves, Alexander steadily increased his advantage and was 4.5 seconds ahead of his closest pursuer at the finish line.
This was the Ukrainian pilot’s second victory in a stage after his victory in the first race. Thanks to this, Bondarev increased his lead in the overall championship standings to 16 points at the end of the season.
The next round of Formula 4 Middle East will take place at the Dubai Circuit between 30 January and 1 February.
