Ruben Fernandes (Honda) joined Jorge Prado (GasGas) for the second time this Sunday at the second round of the Spanish Elite Motocross Championship held at the two-time world champion’s eponymous circuit in Lugo. fought a duel.

Prado was in the lead but could not consolidate it and was passed by the Honda driver on lap seven.

One of GasGas began to give up four seconds and closed the gap to just 0.3 seconds after 16 laps.

His attack was unsuccessful and Ruben not only resisted but also responded and picked up the pace to take the win by 2.5 seconds over Prado.

Their pace was very high, with Yago Martinez (KTM) doubling down to fourth place finishing the race behind Carlos Campano (Yamaha).

The second race has nothing to do with the first race on Saturday, Jorge Prado showed an overwhelming advantage with a great start and the pace to complete the race alone.

Behind, Ruben Fernandes had to move up a position to finish second, but was 1:06 behind Prado, whose best lap was 1:37.903, beating Fernandes’ record (1:39.635). It was almost 2 seconds below.

The podium was completed by another Galician rider, Yago Martinez, who, like Ander Valentín (Husqvarna), benefited from the clash between Carlos Campano and Jose Antonio Butrón (KTM).

Campano finished fifth, while Butrón failed to complete the race and had to be hospitalized due to an injury to his left femur.

In Lugo, Butron’s 55 points, with Campano adding 36 points for a total of 81 points, scored four points in qualifying.

In Elite MX2, lSamuel Nilsson won the first round, with Victor Alonso and Edgar Canet on the podium and Gerard Congosto having to retire.

Nilsson suffered a crash in the second set, with Victor Alonso taking ahead of Congosto and Kane, and in 125, Elias Eskander took part in both races at Lugo.

The third round of the Spanish Championship takes place next weekend in Aldaia (Valencia).
