Russian racing driver Nikita Mazepin will have the opportunity to participate in all racing series when it comes to the European Union, but he will have to follow the restrictions of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), said sports lawyer Anna Antseliovich.

On Thursday, the court ruled that Mazepin has the right to enter the EU to negotiate and conclude agreements with a racing team or with sponsors not associated with his father, Dmitry Mazepin, “as a main or reserve driver of Formula 1 or other series held by under the auspices of the FIA”, to participate in races, sponsorships and promotions at the request of his racing team or sponsors, as well as to participate in championships, Grand Prix, races, training, tests in EU Member States.

– Now Mazepin will have the opportunity to participate in all racing series, if we are talking about the European Union. The only thing is that he will have to follow the FIA restrictions, for example, to act in a neutral status – without a flag and an anthem. At the same time, Nikita will be required to sign a document on distancing himself from the NWO. In this case, the International Automobile Federation is obliged to comply with the court decision, because all sports federations are registered in Switzerland and must comply with the requirements of local authorities. Mazepin could well have competed in series on other continents, but since a lawsuit was filed, it means that the emphasis was on European competitions, including Formula 1, ”Anceliovich said RT.

Mazepin came under EU sanctions a year ago. He was a driver for the Haas team in the 2021 season and finished 21st in the final standings. In March 2022, it was announced that the team would end their partnership with him.

This season, Mazepin participates in the Asian Le Mans Series.
