The first race of the year lived up to the expectations of Formula 1 fans in Greece. A total of 1,184,460 viewers watched the game for just 1 minute.

The Formula One World Championship, the premier motorsport event, made its debut at the Bahrain circuit yesterday, Sunday 5th March, and all the action was broadcast live and exclusively on ANT1 and ANT1+.

The first race of the year lived up to the expectations of Formula 1 fans in Greece, taking first place in the dynamic 18-54 demographic with a 15.1% share. In fact, it reached 33.7% among individual male target groups, while among women it reached 17.3%. A total of 1,184,460 viewers watched the game for just 1 minute.

On Sunday, March 5th, a unique floodlit performance was given on the island in the Persian Gulf in the desert of Sakhir with four protagonists: two red bulls, an electronic control unit and a champion from ancient times.

The two Red Bulls rode a comfortable 1-2 with Max Verstappen who started the year the way he ended the last: winners.

However, behind Sergio Perez there was a big fight for 3rd place. A fight Leclerc lost when he was betrayed by SF23 with an electronics management issue. And a fight Alonso won despite falling behind on the first lap after colliding with fellow Aston Martin Lance Stroll. The Spaniard engaged in epic battles with Russell, Hamilton and Saint, attracting millions of viewers around the world and in Greece.

The special “FORMULA 1 SHOW” with Takis Pournarakis and Panos Seitanidis before the race took us with P. Seitanidis to the first mission of a Greek broadcaster to a Grand Prix that has been held for years on the Sakhir circuit.

The show had the honor of hosting FIA Director of Cars and Head of the Confederation in Formula 1, Nikolas Topazis. Sharing moments before taking off from the grid, while speaking live with ANT1 envoy Panos Seitanidis, the Greek engineer expressed his belief in the rule changes which have narrowed the gap between teams and led to inconclusive battles for positions – except the first to be among Red Bull’s two cars at Shahkir. But in Formula 1 things change every moment.

The next meeting of the cars will take place on Sunday March 19 in Saudi Arabia at the Jeddah circuit, which is completely different from Sakhir. Who will have the advantage there? Don’t miss a moment!
