F1 2023 Saudi Grand Prix 1X1: Alonso, 100th anniversary…
The second game of the season was a very diverse performance. We will review the performance of each of the 20 drivers that make up the grid. At the F1 Saudi Grand Prix disputed over the layout of Jeddah.
DNF
Lance Stroll
aston martin
Frustration. The Canadian retired on lap 18 while fighting for a top five finish. The team radioed him to stop the car, but he complied and left Aston Marine at turn 13, when the safety car came out.
DNF
Alexander Albon
Williams
Bad luck. The British-Thai driver had brake problems with his Williams mid-race and was forced to retire. I stayed behind to score points.
18th
Valtteri Bottas
alfa romeo
Inconspicuous. A race to forget the Finns. The Mercedes native was hoping to score some points, but he lacked rhythm throughout the race.
17th
Land Norris
mclaren
not noticed. He was already at the back of the grid when he hit the wall in qualifying and was expected to return, but McLaren’s benefits weren’t enough.
16th
Sergeant Logan
Williams
It’s getting better. The American rookie continues to take steps to adapt to the highest category. He has to defend himself against McLaren and his mates with worn tires and is gaining experience.
15th day
Oscar Piastri
mclaren
Growing up. Despite starting eighth, the Australian hoped she wouldn’t have the day. He made contact with the front wing at the start and his career has since slipped to the back of the grid.he had a great duel with norris
14th
Nick Devries
Alpha Tauri
Stagnation. The Dutch driver was hampered by traffic after a difficult start. He himself admits that his pace in the dirty air was not competitive enough and he was unable to warm his tyres.
The 13th
Zhou Guan Yu
alfa romeo
Corruption. The Chinese were once again the best Alfa Romeo in Saudi Arabia, but failed to score any points. The first stint was better than expected and they could dream of a top ten, but the start of the safety car hurt him and he got stuck in traffic.
12th
Nico Hulkenberg
Hearth
solved. A good career in the German middle zone after the problems he had in Bahrain. He ran out of points but came out again in the top 10, trailing Magnussen for most of the race
11th place
Yuki Tsunoda
Alpha Tauri
defeated. The Japanese started at the bottom, but moved up to 10th place. However, Kevin Magnussen took the final points position from him shortly after the end.
10th
Kevin Magnussen
Hearth
Tirelessly. A great run by Dane to score the American team’s first points of the season. Magnussen overtook Tsunoda with four laps to go.
9th place
Pierre Gasley
alpine
Warrior. The newcomer to the team once again successfully duplicated his ninth-place finish in Bahrain. We were already in the top 10 this time and were able to maintain a good pace from the start.
8th place
Esteban Ocon
alpine
reborn. After Sakhir’s ordeal, Ocon had a quiet competition in front of his teammates. His target now is to close the gap to Ferrari, where he was almost ten seconds ahead.
7th place
Charles Leclerc
Ferrari
It was a pity. Monegasque had only a few laps to go, so he was one of the biggest victims of the safety car start. He made a great comeback in his first stint, but then suffered a lot of degradation and his pace slowed.
6th place
Carlos Sainz
Ferrari
effective. The Madrid man did what he could with Ferrari who weren’t good enough in terms of pace. He started in his fourth position, but safety ruined his strategy against Mercedes and high degradation kept him out of the fight.
5th place
Lewis Hamilton
mercedes
Warlike. The Englishman started eighth and, combined with the safety car, moved up to fifth. He tried to pass teammate George Russell, but his compatriot couldn’t catch up.
4th
George Russell
mercedes
elevator. The Englishman finished a great race in his 4th place. However, Alonso’s penalty gave him the first podium finish for Mercedes of the Year. However, a few hours later they were stripped of the podium as Asturias’ penalty was reviewed.
3rd place
Fernando Alonso
aston martin
100th anniversary. The Spaniard scored his 100th podium after several hours of controversy that took him third. Alonso led the race, but Red Bull’s pace was that of another league.
2nd place
Max Verstappen
red bull
Superior. The Dutchman started from his 15th position, but his pace was disastrous compared to the others and he “easily” came back to 2nd place. He took the fastest lap to maintain the overall lead.
First place
Sergio Perez
red bull
barbarian. Keeping up with Verstappen’s pace, the Mexican was full of energy. When Alonso passed him at the start, he didn’t strain and quickly returned the play. He managed the race perfectly from the front and took his fifth win in Formula 1.
