Mercedes has confirmed its interest in Leclerc. But for now, he wants to stay at Hamilton.
Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has confirmed that he is monitoring Charles Leclerc’s situation at Ferrari but is keen to re-sign Lewis Hamilton in the short term.
“Charles is a great guy who is well suited to those who make long-term plans. Leclerc is on our radar, of course, but he is now focused on Ferrari and we are doing everything we can to sign Hamilton.”
Hamilton’s contract expires later this year, but talks with the driver have been put on hold after Mercedes’ bad start to the season.
