Despite his brilliant finish at the Bahrain GP, which confirmed that Ferrari is once again the protagonist of F1, Charles Leclerc has stated that he has not yet found the perfect driving style required for F1-75.

The 10th pole position of Monegasque’s career for tomorrow’s (20/3) Bahrain GP is perhaps the most important as it is his first, accompanied by realistic hopes of winning the Formula 1 Championship for himself and Ferrari.

“I wasn’t entirely happy with my ride, but I managed to set this lap Q3 and so we start from pole so I’m very happy”said Monegasque. “Even in qualifying we were almost certain that Red Bull would be faster than us. But it’s a good surprise that this didn’t happen.

The tests have helped us a lot in that direction, I’ve tried many different riding styles and I’m still trying to find the perfect one. “No doubt I hope there is much more to come from our side.”

Speaking about tomorrow’s first GP of 2022, he concluded: “Now we have to finish the two days successfully. Tomorrow’s fight will not be easy. Tire wear is an issue here – and especially with this year’s weight gain [των μονοθεσίων]. So we have to focus on that and I hope that tomorrow we will have a good fight.

Carlos Saint also made great progress in today’s qualifying tests after struggling with free throws. The Spaniard in particular stated: “I’m very happy with the progress I’ve made in these two days – I was very wide, more than half a second. So even pole position was good for me. “It’s worth it, Charles was all day up front and pole position is worth it.”
