Qualifying for the Hungarian GP will be held in an experimental format
The Hungarian Grand Prix, which will take place at the Hungaroring from 21 to 23 June, will test an experimental qualifying format for the Formula 1 World Championship for the first time.
According to the novelty, it is reported that the pilots will use a set of hard tires in the first segment, soft tires in the second – medium and in the third.
Two stages are planned for the 2023 season, in which drivers will use 11 sets of tires instead of the standard 13. The experimental qualification format will be used in these stages.
Initially, the novelty was expected to be tested at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Imola in May, but the stage was canceled due to flooding.
