The crowd at the circuit was rubbing their hands ahead of the weekend. After five podium finishes in six races in Monaco and close to pole position and victory, he dreamed of the long-awaited victory number 33 for Fernando Alonso. It is also hoped that a new significant improvement package from Ferrari will allow Sainz to race at a better pace and with less degradation than his previous appointment. But the only clear ruler from the start was Verstappen. Sainz made a comeback in Q3 to start second and the man from Madrid replaced Alonso as Sunday’s big hope. His starting position, along with the disastrous ‘qualifiers’ of Leclerc (he started from the pitlane) and Perez (11th), gave him podium dreams. But Carlos warned on Saturday that “the podium is possible, but it will be difficult.” it was. Mercedes woke up.
Barcelona is a track that really represents the rhythm of cars, so keep an eye on it. After stalling for far too long, Star Team has dispelled misconceptions about cars with almost no sidepods at Monaco. Stars with Red Bull-like pontoons had to evaluate their cars in Barcelona. It works, it’s great. This Sunday they showed it at the race.
Sainz started second but was unable to hold off Hamilton and Russell despite his superior pace and strategy. He was passed first by Hamilton in the first stint. Then Russell, who along with Lewis extended his stop over Carlos due to better degradation, overtook him on lap 35 on fresh tyres, and with 16 laps to go, Perez, who started 11th, was on good pace. He passed Carlos on the track in young rubber and took fourth place from Carlos. Sainz was unable to improve what Ferrari should have improved and, seeing Mercedes’ result, could do no more and finished fifth.

Alonso, 7th
Fernando Alonso tried to make a comeback for a top-five finish. He could have fought for second place in ‘qualifying’, but two mistakes on a very delicate track meant he started eighth on Sunday. He was going all out in front of the fans with the best theoretical race pace and Aston Martin degradation. He gained two positions in the early laps, but Norris was in trouble and Hulkenberg had a very good start. However, the car didn’t respond as expected with the softer rubber we undone at the first stop.
His career was no longer at Mercedes or Sainz, but with Ocon, Tsunoda and Zhou in search of the best possible position. He made a long save and attacked with a young hard rubber. It wasn’t until lap 45, with 12 laps to go, that Fernando looked more comfortable. he did his best. He overtook Zhou by 2 seconds. He then got Tsunoda and then his former teammate Esteban Ocon. The Frenchman has displayed an overly aggressive defense against Alonso since he was his teammate. A year later, he did it again with another team. Ocon changed direction abruptly on the straight at over 300km/h and pushed Alonso into the grass. they were trying to touch The Spaniards were able to avoid it and attack the enemy with axes.

I was 7th. He then got behind the wheel of his partner Stroll. Their relationship is very different. Both respect each other and row in the same direction. Mr Stroll said he would not attack Mr Fernando in Baku. And this time Fernando made it a priority to help Lance, despite his desire to come back and his pace improving. Please tell Lance not to worry. There is zero risk,” Fernando said, insisting he only wants to widen the gap on his rivals. Ocon was 5 inches, but Fernando controlled him. And the date is over.
This is Alonso’s worst result of the year so far, but the Asturian has already warned that this could happen several times this year, and it could also happen at Barcelona. And he said that if it happened, he didn’t have to sink. And I will continue to be happy. Because this project is long term and not weekend to weekend. It may be another team in the short term. We have a mission and it’s a longer term one,” he said. Now the only question is whether what happened in Barcelona is trending or whether Aston Martin can come second in the next round. In Barcelona it hurt for him that the asphalt was cold because of the clouds.Further improvements are expected at Aston Martin

New F1 champion names motorsport legends who helped him
2025 Formula 1 champion Lando Norris admitted that private messages and personal meetings with legends such as Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and four-time MotoGP champion Casey Stoner played an important role in the championship fight.
Norris has spoken about the support he has received ahead of the decisive stages of the season.
“I have received so many powerful words of encouragement, messages and speeches from incredible people who are world champions in a variety of sports, from Lewis, Seb and many more.
Many people don’t know that I communicate with Seb. Some, especially Casey Stoner, wrote me a quick message just when I needed it most: “Think about this, believe in yourself, do this, do that.” That really helped me get back on track.”
Norris’ title chances were in serious jeopardy following the recent rise of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. However, McLaren’s successful strategy in Abu Dhabi on the final stage of the season allowed the Briton to finish third at the Yas Marina Circuit and formalize the championship title.
An important component of success was the pilot’s psychological resilience. Norris made mistakes throughout the 2025 season that could have cost him the title, but he managed to withstand the pressure while his teammate Oscar Piastri succumbed to the pressure at key moments of the season.
Norris concluded: “When you win the championship by just two points, I’m sure that the faith and support of the people around me brought me these two points. That’s why I’m grateful to everyone, because sometimes you only need two points to win the championship.”

MotoGP Ducati coach Gigi Dall’Igna: “Marc Marquez’s limitation was that he took risks that were unnecessary”
Gigi Dall’Igna He was one of the men who put his hand in the fire when he made the decision. Marc Marquez instead of Jorge Martin as a friend Pecco Bagnaia inside the box ducati official. But just one year later he was proven right. The Cervera native returned to the top of the motorcycling world with a landslide victory in the Desmosedici GP25.
Indeed, in recognition of this return to the top, DAZN released the documentary Volver, in which Ducati’s sports director reflects on the fact that Marc always pushes himself to the limit. Even when you don’t need to. And Dariña sees this as one of Marc Márquez’s few weaknesses thus far.
”His limitation is that he may take risks even when it is not necessary. If there had been a little more clarity, for example, some mistakes could have been avoided at some point,” Dall’Iña argued.
In this sense he also said: Marco RigamontiHe made his debut as a truck engineer for Marquez in 2025. For Italians, this exploration of boundaries is a trait that has brought them great success in the past.
“He always said this.I want to be remembered as someone who gave everything.. It shows on the track as he always pushes the bike to the maximum and always tries. He is not afraid to make decisions that go against the flow.. Moreover, he knows that if he makes a choice at the last moment that surprises the other drivers, it could give him an advantage,” Rigamonti said.
After becoming champion, Marquez was involved in an accident at the Indonesian Grand Prix and was forced to undergo surgery to recover from a shoulder blade injury. Just a few days ago, he was able to get back on a flat track motorcycle and is currently continuing to heal his right shoulder.
The goal, as Marc himself has reiterated both actively and passively, is to take part in the February test at Sepang. He doesn’t want to miss the start of the 2026 preseason.

Ferrari names troubled chief engineer over Lewis Hamilton
According to reports in the Italian media, the Ferrari team has made a decision about race engineer Lewis Hamilton for the 2026 season.
Riccardo Adami has been working with the seven-time world champion since the Briton moved to the Scuderia in January 2025. But there were a few strange and resonant radio conversations between them throughout the season.
During the Australian Grand Prix, Hamilton appeared confused by the lack of information from his engineer, and at the Miami round he reacted strongly to the situation, issuing team orders and advising the team to “drink some tea” after Charles Leclerc refused to let him pass.
At the Monaco Grand Prix, Riccardo Adami asked Hamilton: “Are you mad at me?” There was another incident where he ignored her request. Ferrari later announced that the engineer had left the pit wall at that time.
A similar situation was repeated after the last race of the season. During the radio exchange, Hamilton thanked the team and the race engineer for their cooperation, but received no response. The Briton then asked if they had heard him and received an explanation that the team were talking to each other at the time.
At the end of the season, team principal Fred Vasser said the Scuderia would review Hamilton’s inner circle to improve their results. And it looks like the decision has already been made.
According to Italian publication Auto Racer, Ferrari has decided to retain Riccardo Adami as Hamilton’s race engineer for 2026. The most important reason for this was a “very positive” private dinner between the pilot and the engineer.
The team expects to take a serious step forward in 2026 in light of new technical regulations. Next season could be decisive for Hamilton because 2026 is considered the last year of his current contract with Ferrari.
His first season in the Scuderia was a difficult one for the Briton. Hamilton finished the championship in sixth place using the problematic SF-25 car, but lost 86 points to his teammate.
Hamilton went a season without a podium for the first time in his career, while Leclerc scored seven goals. Of particular concern was the seven-time champion’s deteriorating qualifying form later in the year.
