EKO Rally Acropolis was awarded the Sport Organization of the Year award
The EKO Rally Acropolis 2021 was awarded the top honor and 9 other honors at the annual Sports Marketing Awards.
The Acropolis Rally returned to the WRC Championship in 2021, leaving the best possible image in almost every area! Recognition of the effort was sealed with a host of awards at the now established Sports Marketing Awards, hosted by business communications company Boussias.
Nominated in eleven categories, the EKO Rally Acropolis “left” the hotel “Radisson Blu Park”, where the award ceremony took place, with ten awards! Top among them platinum in the category Best Sports Events as the best sporting event of the year.
The award was accepted by Deputy Sports Minister Lefteris Avgenakis, who stated: “Exactly one year ago we announced the return of the Acropolis Rally to the World Championship. Up until then we had said very little and achieved a lot. We were challenged. However, the EKO Rally Acropolis is here to stay and the current recognition of our efforts and efforts through these awards is the strongest endorsement of the bright future of our national race. It is with great honor that I accept this award and dedicate it to all those who worked calmly, methodically and tirelessly as soldiers before, during and after the event.“.
EKO Rally Acropolis won in other categories:
- “Gold” in the motorsport category.
- “Gold” as the best sponsorship platform for the COSMOTE 5G Athens Stage.
- “Gold” in the e-Sports category for organizing the WRC e-Sports World Final.
- “Gold” for the best presence of a sporting event on Instagram.
- “Gold” for the overall presence of the event in e-sports.
- “Gold” in the Sports Tourism category.
- “Silver” in the category for the best sponsorship program of a sports organization.
- “Silver” for the game’s overall social media presence.

It is worth noting that EKO, the race’s title sponsor and a member of the ELPE Group, has won the highest Platinum award in the Best Sport Sponsorship category, as well as the Gold award for Best Sponsorship Program at a Sporting Event.
The title of “Best Sports Company of the Year” went to The Magic Bus, the company responsible for implementing the EKO Rally Acropolis sponsorship plan, while important awards were won by COSMOTE and Kotsovolos, sponsored by the race.
The Sports Marketing Awards, presented for the fifth time, are judged by a jury chaired by Mr. Panagiotis Giannakis and members of well-known executives from major companies in the market.
