No more than 24. F1 finds ideal number of races per season
Formula 1 chief Stefano Domenicali believes the season’s calendar should consist of 24 Grand Prix. This is a record number planned for the current championship.
However, due to the cancellation of the races in China and Italy, the 2023 season will continue with 22 races.
We want to run 24 races next season. This is the correct number. It’s a balance between logistics and how hard people have to work.”
“And we plan to keep that number stable for a long time,” Domenicali said.
This season, the race in China was canceled due to the coronavirus and the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix was not held due to flooding in the Italian region.
