Sign: “I’ll be mad ’til I fall asleep”
Carlos Saint is very angry after disastrous Q3 in Australian Grand Prix time trial.
Despite the dynamism he has shown during most of the time trials, Carlos Sainth will eventually start the Australian Grand Prix from 9th place with hopes of even pole position.
The reason, according to the Spaniard, is that his team was unable to start the Ferrari engine for the final stage after the red flags interrupted Q3 due to the departure of Fernando Alonso.
Eventually, Saint left the track three minutes late and started his fast lap without warming up his tires, resulting in a small exit that ruined his efforts.
“Before the last lap we had a problem with the starter. We couldn’t start the car and got out three minutes late. I couldn’t prepare the tyres, I couldn’t warm them up, everything was in a hurry and I had to do the lap with iced tires and in the end it was a terrible ride‘ said the disappointed Spaniard.
“It’s just a disaster. Today I got pole and everything that could go wrong went wrong for me. I won’t be happy at all if someone tells me to be happy, but tomorrow is a different day. i need a nap By the time I want to sleep, I’ll be pissedς”.
However, Ferrari has every reason to celebrate as Charles Leclerc celebrated his second pole position of the year, beating Ferstappen and Perez to start Sunday’s race from first place.
