Catalunya Grand Prix in September sees slight increase in attendance
The rescheduling of the Catalunya Grand Prix has not been as drastic a change as the circuit’s chiefs had expected in regards to fan support after the official number of spectators was revealed. A total of 152,065 spectators entered the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit over the weekend, taking into account that Grand Prix tickets are subscriptions ranging from €88 to €145 over the three days. 27,621 on Friday, 52,589 on Saturday and 71,855 on Sunday. About 72 euros in Peru for a seat in the grandstand.
From June 3-5, 2022 to September 1-3, 2023, attendance increased by 37,491 on weekends and 11,787 on Sundays. Gone are the glorious days of Valentino Rossi’s Magnificent Four from 2005 to 2008, when crowds exceeded 200,000 on weekends and well over 100,000 on Sundays. We must begin to digest that is to attract new masses.
