“I fought for the championship” Sergio Perez explained why he failed this season
Red Bull driver Sergio Perez is in second place in the general classification, but he is having an overall unsuccessful season and cannot compete with his teammate Max Verstappen.
The Mexican player talked about the problems he experienced in this championship.
“When the season started the car suited me very well. But the team was updating the car and after Miami it was a different car that didn’t suit me. Then I failed a few times in qualifying and that destroyed my confidence. But at the beginning of the season I was fighting for the championship but only then now I have regained confidence in my abilities,” said Perez.
Psychological pressure even forced Perez to see a psychologist.
“Playing in a top team is pressure. When you have problems at work, it affects your family. I hired a psychologist because my family deserves to have a happy father at home.”
Perez’s contract with the Bulls expires after the 2024 season.
