Woking’s car was the most consistent leader chasing Max in this final straight, with Piastri getting off to a great start and Norris making the most of the car’s pace with a good comeback. The battle between the orange car and the silver arrow looked interesting, with George Russell starting second and Lewis Hamilton third. But this time the Brackley players made it much easier for McLaren from the first corner.
mercedes crash
Hamilton tried to pass his teammate on the outside of Turn 1, but was too optimistic. George finds himself in the middle of the car, wedged between Max and Hamilton, and he has no room to maneuver. And it ended with Louis touching George. Lewis was about to enter the gravel and he had to give up. Russell, on the other hand, had to enter the pits with damage as he attempted a complicated reversal. Then a fierce battle for the podium began. Verstappen was determined to run away, and all eyes were on the two spots on the podium.
Piastri got off to a good start from 6th and took second place, and had the pace to maintain that position barring a failure. Fernando Alonso, who started fourth, moved into third at Turn 1. The excitement was in the battle for third place between Fernando, Leclerc, Norris and Russell, who extended his stint to pursue the near-impossible.
Alonso tried but couldn’t.
The race featured new rules devised by the FIA to avoid the potential safety issue of punctured Pirelli tires, which were unacceptable for top-level motorsport competition. This is all because the curves of tracks built for MotoGP have a huge impact on the wheels. The FIA has therefore limited stints on each set of tires to a maximum of 18 laps. In the same game he was eliminated who completed 19 rounds. Therefore, everyone had to stop him at least three times.

After a rocky start, the key to the event was strategy, and the challenge for third place Fernando Alonso looked very complicated. His Aston Martin had less pace than Norris’ McLaren, but that didn’t seem to be enough to stop the Brit, who started 10th and was sixth after the start. The Oviedo native maintained his momentum until the second stop. Lando made his pit stop a little later than Fernando and gained enough of an advantage to pass Fernando on his second pit stop. Fernando’s fight happened to be against Charles Leclerc. However, on lap 33, Fernando Alonso, who had complained of a burnt seat, suffered whiplash and went off the track. There, the Spaniard entered the asphalt just behind Leclerc, who finished fifth and the final position with Esteban Ocon was sixth, the highest the Spaniard could achieve in a race for an Aston Martin. It became the ranking.
The fourth was George Russell, who took the opposite strategy to the other teams and took advantage of the first ‘safety car’ caused by the accident to make an early stop. The Briton extended his stop as long as possible and was able to pull out with a few turns left on the soft rubber. His Mercedes’ good pace earned him fourth position. I had more cars. Had it not been for Hamilton’s accident, the two Mercedes cars could have had a great battle with McLaren. Bottas (8th), Zhou (9th) and Perez (10th) completed the top 10.
Sainz did not play
Carlos Sainz was even less lucky. The Madrid man left Qatar empty-handed, unable to even start the race due to a petrol leak in his Ferrari, and saw how his rivals in the overall World Championship standings were depriving him of points.
Sergeant, dehydrated.Perez, sunk
The most negative image from this race was that of Logan Sargent, who was forced to retire early due to poor health. Several of Williams’ mechanics removed him from the car, who was clearly dehydrated. The American athlete said before the Singapore Grand Prix that he didn’t want to drink while he was driving. This is a very dangerous move that could cost you a lot in this race.
‘Czeco’ Perez, on the other hand, started from the pit lane and exceeded the track limits multiple times, resulting in two penalties of 5 seconds each. He finished 10th with one point in the same car that Verstappen dominated.

Lewis Hamilton was one step away from signing a contract with someone outside F1
Peter Sauber, founder of the Sauber Formula 1 team, said that he was very close to signing a contract with Lewis Hamilton nearly 20 years ago.
At the time, the Briton was in the McLaren youth academy, but the Woking team, which regularly challenges for championship titles, planned to send Hamilton outside the peloton for a season to gain experience in Formula One.
According to the Swiss driver, his and McLaren’s vision of the situation did not align. While Peter Sauber was counting on long-term cooperation, the British team was only considering the option of hiring pilots on a temporary basis. Due to different terms and conditions, the deal ultimately did not happen.
“Almost no one knows that Lewis Hamilton planned to race for Sauber nearly 20 years ago.”
“He was part of the McLaren team and they wanted to send him to Hinwil for training. That’s why the McLaren delegation met with Lewis and his father Anthony, me and our lawyer Monisha Kaltenborn at Kloten Airport.”
“In the end the deal didn’t work out because McClaren only wanted to loan him for one season and we insisted on a two-year loan.”
As a result, Lewis Hamilton remained with McLaren and entered the title fight in his first season in Formula 1. The Briton lost the championship largely due to a series of unfortunate circumstances, but he immediately showed the top level. Lewis currently has 7 championships.

A former Ferrari engineer has joined the new F1 team. Worked at Leclerc
Former Ferrari engineer Javi Marcos is returning to Formula 1 with a new key role in the Cadillac project.
The Spaniard was previously working as Charles Leclerc’s race engineer at Ferrari, but was replaced by Brian Bozzi ahead of the 2024 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. After that, Marcos decided to leave the Italian team and join Cadillac.
Last year, Marcos worked in the American manufacturer’s WEC and IMSA programs and was also officially appointed technical director of Cadillac’s LMDh project.
However, it is now known that he will focus on Formula 1 again. According to sources, Marcos has been appointed chief racing engineer of the future Cadillac team, which will enter the championship in 2026.
Cadillac will join the peloton as its 11th Formula 1 team. The American team, which will use Ferrari power plants in the first seasons, will switch to its own engines in partnership with General Motors from 2028.
The team had previously confirmed that Carlo Pasetti and John Howard would serve as race engineers for Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez respectively. Marcos will serve in a position above them and will coordinate the work of the engineering staff.

According to the 50-year-old German, this special duo; It will be an ideal combination in terms of speed, stability and mental toughness.
Schumacher said: “My brother and Max Verstappen. It would be very interesting. They would get along well because they are both at the top level and at the same time very reasonable. I think it will be a healthy but tough fight. If we talk purely about skill, these are two of the best drivers I have seen in Formula 1.”
The former racer also highlighted the key characteristic he believes distinguishes Williams, Verstappen and Michael Schumacher from the rest: the ability to consistently be at their best in crucial moments.
“The ability to perform under pressure, always being faster than your teammate and getting the best out of the car and the team – that’s what sets them apart,” he added.
