Formula 1 pilots are in shock. Penalties increased 4 times
Ahead of the US Grand Prix, the International Motor Sports Federation announced that the maximum fine that can be imposed on a driver for various violations has been increased fourfold from 250 thousand euros to 1 million euros.
This caused dissatisfaction among cyclists who did not understand where the money would go.
“If they want to fine us 1 million lira, they will have to clearly state where the money will go. That’s a lot of money. “I don’t know what you have to do to get that much punishment,” Lewis Hamilton said.
Mercedes teammate George Russell expressed hope that the newcomers could avoid such penalties.
“I remember in my first season in F1 I had a pretty small salary. At that time I was still paying personal trainers, paying for flights and everything else. I ended the year with a big minus. I hope the new starters won’t be punished like that,” said Russell.
