Hamilton seeks help F1 won’t penalize Verstappen for success
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton believes Formula 1 and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile need to step in and somehow stop the dominance of Red Bull and Max Verstappen.
“We see that the interest of the fans has dropped significantly this season. I think we need to work to have close races and battles in F1. Verstappen’s dominance had a huge impact on the championship. “The management must ensure that there is competition,” said Hamilton confidently.
But the FIA has no plans to change the rules to stop the Bulls.
“We will not artificially change the balance of power and punish Verstappen and Red Bull for their success. But the FIA is ready to listen to suggestions,” said the organisation’s president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
