“Czech” Perez: “There was damage to the car”
Mexican Sergio “Czech” Perez (Red Bull)3rd place in the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix race, He revealed that there was “some damage to the car” after he touched it at the start. That caused him to lose his “top speed.”
“It was a difficult start due to machine damage.I broke my front wing and fell back to the back of the grid.. We were overtaking, everything was fine, we had a good pace…we got back in front and thanks to the safety car we were able to participate in the race, ”he analyzed at the international traffic lights.
“I passed Charles Leclerc but couldn’t get away from him.There was some damage to the car And it didn’t have the top speed it should have. Then Max Verstappen came and passed us both,” he continued.
“It was a good race. It wasn’t easy to separate myself from the people behind me. It is similar to Baku. “It was a good show,” he added.
Perez explains how he lost second place on the podium on the final lap in a battle with Charles Leclerc.
“I didn’t expect what Charles did. -Leclerc-, he was 1.7 seconds away, but he was there when braking,” he said.
