Fernando Alonso didn’t have his best racing experience this weekend. The Asturian finished ninth at the Las Vegas Grand Prix after a very complicated situation at the first corner. 18th place with damage to the car, leading the entire race.

Undoubtedly, the delicate situation at a unique circuit has not left a good taste in his mouth. “As I said this week, we need balance. Driving on this kind of circuit at speeds of 360 km/h with no grip, no visibility, and bouncing around isn’t much fun.” he lamented after the race.

The two-time world champion reflected on the priorities F1 should have. ”I think we need to balance the championship and the calendar.. “I think that’s what we’re doing, but I don’t think it’s the only way to go,” he said, before sending a message to the American line:

They may look great from the outside, but these cars aren’t built to take corners at 50 mph. These cars are made to go to Suzuka or BarcelonaI will go to Silverstone and maximize my F1 potential,” he said.

Regarding the race itself, Alonso declared: “They did more than we expected.” Lance (Strol), who started 19th and finished 5th, took the lead. As for me, I have lost the opportunity to do anything more, but as much as possible… We finished 10th in the time trial and 9th in the race, both cars were in the points, so we have to look at the positives. ”
