The last race of the F1 season. What intrigue remains?
The last race of this season starts on Friday. Ahead of the driver competition in Abu Dhabi, we get to know the champion, vice-champion and bronze medalist: Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton.
Carlos Sainz (200 points), Fernando Alonso (200), Lando Norris (195) and Charles Leclerc (188) are fighting for the fourth and fifth places.
The fight in the Constructors’ Championship is much more interesting. We know the champion Red Bull, but Mercedes and Ferrari are fighting for second place. You may ask who needs second place, but for the teams it is money. At the end of the season, participants will receive prize money depending on their position in the Constructors’ Championship, and an additional 10-15 million euros (depending on F1’s income for the year) will not be superfluous.
Mercedes was clearly ahead of Ferrari for a long time, but in the last third of the season the Scuderia narrowed the gap to almost a minimum. Currently, Mercedes is only 4 points ahead of Ferrari.
There is also a fight for 4th place between Aston Martin and McLaren. McLaren is 11 points ahead of its rival.
