Conference Preview: Compostela – Corxo
Compostela will play the 13th second federation match against Corso this Sunday at 5:30 pm at the Belo Boquete Municipal Stadium in San Lazaro.
Compostela have won their last two matches, one against Guijuelo and the other at home against Cayon, 0-1 and 2-0, and will be heading into this match with high spirits as they aim for a consecutive win. Furthermore, the local team has won five of the 12 matches played in the second federation so far, with 16 goals scored in favor and 12 goals scored against.
Corso, meanwhile, will look to continue their winning streak at the stadium having won their last two games of the competition, at home against Covadonga and away against Arandina, 3-1 and 0-1 respectively. So far, Corusso has won four of the 12 matches he has played in the second federation, with 13 goals scored in favor and 18 goals scored against.
Focusing on the home team’s performance, Compostela has 3 wins and 3 losses in the 6 games played so far, indicating that the points at home are gradually decreasing, giving an advantage to the visiting team. It provides an opportunity to achieve positive results. Corso have a record of 1 win and 5 losses in their last six games, so in theory this could be a good match for Compostela to get a positive result at home.
The two rivals have already met at the Compostela Stadium in the past, with two draws between the local teams. At the same time, the local team is the team with the most wins against Corso at the stadium, having won three times in the past. The last match Compostela and Corso played in this competition was in March 2023, which ended with a score of 1-0 for the visiting team.
If we look at the situation of both teams in the second federation qualification table, we can see that both teams are in favor of Compostela with a difference of 4 points. Michel Alonso’s team are in seventh place with 18 points. Meanwhile, the visiting team is in 11th place with 14 points.
