The Dutchman will start this Sunday ahead of Charles Leclerc, who came on as a substitute when no one expected him to overtake him. Piastri (3rd, penalty avoided), Russell (4th), Norris (5th).

Tsunoda was 6th and 7th on the starting grid for the 2023 F1 Abu Dhabi GP. Fernando Alonso will start in a better than expected position in the classification where he never made a mistake. The Oviedo native will start seventh, knowing that it will be very difficult to fight for fourth place in the race. Drivers and Constructors World Cup. But he will try.

Alonso’s battle for 4th place starts from 7th on the grid

Aston Martin is 11 points behind McLaren in the constructors’ standings, but the two McLarens will theoretically start from the front with better pace and Lance Stroll will be on the starting grid for the 2023 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. That will be difficult to achieve, as he will start in 13th place, well behind the Frenchman. The Canadian could help the Oviedo native fight. The battle for fourth place in the Drivers’ World Championship is heating up.

Alonso is tied with Sainz on 200 points. Norris is 5 points behind, Leclerc 12 points behind. However, strangely, the starting grid for the 2023 F1 Abu Dhabi GP will have the reverse order in the race compared to the World Championship, so if Monaco’s players get on the podium and Alonso gets on the podium, Leclerc will be on the starting grid. It will be difficult to maintain fifth place. Norris with a boxcar. Same with Sainz, who has to come back from 16th place on a track that is very difficult to come back from.

‘Czech’ Hamilton and Sainz set to return

To this we must add that “Czech” Perez must aim for a comeback in a car with good race pace like Red Bull. The Mexican started from ninth place on the starting grid for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton should also move forward after suffering a Q3 exit (11th) in a Mercedes where Russell managed to finish 4th.

The F1 champion chose a driver who could win 5 championships. This is not Verstappen

1996 Formula 1 champion Damon Hill expressed his confidence in Lando Norris, believing that the British driver can win three or four championships during his career after his success last month.

Norris finished the 2025 season at the top of the standings, finishing third at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

This earned him a place on a list of world champions that includes only 35 drivers. It’s even rarer for a driver to win more than one championship, but Hill is confident Norris can extend his achievements to four or five trophies.

“He did that, and that provides a certain peace of mind,” Hill said.

“He will be able to relax to a certain degree. It all depends on your desire to win.”
I always thought it would be enough for Michael (Schumacher) to win one, two, three, four, five championships, but he went on to win one or two more championships.

On the contrary, some people become more motivated and pursue new titles. I definitely think Lando is capable of multiple championships. “I think there are three or four more left.”
