The key to Cheste’s career
1. End of the straight at the start of the third lap.
Bagnaia and Martin, in first and second place, tried to brake at the end of the straight, but were sucked into the vacuum of the No. 1 Ducati, and the Spanish rider was unable to stop his bike. He made contact with Bagnaia and ran off the track. He returned to the race in 8th place.
2. Martin’s Collapse.
In a frantic attempt to reach the front of the race, Martin “mercilessly” passes drivers. He reaches Marc Márquez’s wheel and tries to overtake him, but his front wheel makes contact with Márquez’s rear wheel and they both suffer a hard fall… The world title has an owner.
3. “Martin Out” board.
At the next goal line crossing, Bagnaia’s team warned that Jorge was out, and Pecco’s driving automatically lost its intensity, which Binder and Miller took advantage of to overcome him.
4. Errors in binders and mirrors.
The path to the podium seemed open for both KTM riders, but first Binder went wide under braking, then Miller crashed while comfortably in the lead. Two mistakes put Bagnaia back in the lead and the victory sealed his second world title.
5. Vinales rear tire.
Maverick was the only car on the grid with a soft rear tire. This choice turned out to be completely wrong, handing sixth place to teammate Aleix Espargaro.
