History repeats itself. World title thanks to first place at the Valencia Grand Prix for the all-Italian duo Francesco Banaia and Desmosedici GP of the Ducati Lenovo team. This is the second year in a row that I finished in the final standings ahead of two other Ducati riders: Jorge Martin (Pramac Racing Team) and Marco Bezecchi (VR46 Racing Team).

A Ducati podium for three riders at the final MotoGP race is the culmination of efforts that have resulted in a record season for Ducati, which has seen victories in all major two-wheeled world championships. The confirmation of Francesco Banaia’s dominance in MotoGP, the defense of the title by Alvaro Bautista in WorldSBK and Niccolò Boulega’s first success in WorldSSP prove that in Borgo Panigale the desire for improvement knows no limits.

The common thread that unites all the successes of the Ducati Corse racing season is the technical excellence that has led to the Desmosedici GP, the Panigale V4 R and the Panigale V2 being the best motorcycles on the grid in their respective championships. In fact, winning the three world championship titles for Ducati is linked to a triple victory in the manufacturers’ championship.

No other motorcycle manufacturer before Ducati had ever won the rider and manufacturer world championship titles in MotoGP and WorldSBK in two consecutive seasons. For Ducati, the only non-Japanese manufacturer capable of winning a MotoGP World Championship, this is the third riders’ title in its history.

The number of Superbike World Championship titles won by riders from Borgo Panigale – the home of Ducati – is 16. The 2023 MotoGP season was marked by the remarkable technical superiority of Ducati motorcycles, which set some records of the most important two-wheeled world championship wrote, such as the highest number of overall wins in a single season (17 out of 20 Grands Prix).
