La Real have yet to utilize Anoeta in the Champions League
Virtually everything is looking rosy in the current Real Champions League. With two days left to qualify, it was up to them to draw in Milan and finish in first place, with four gigantic football shows taking place.
However, Churi Urdin is yet to make enough money from his Anoeta home base in the continent’s premier tournament. In the nine matches played at Amara in the final stages (the last match in 2013 does not count) they have only won two. One against Benfica this season (3-1) and the other against Olympiakos in 2003, where the penalty goal was Kovacevic. Furthermore, after the draw against Salzburg, it was confirmed that Imanol’s side would pick up more points away than at home in this group stage. He scored two points with Lautaro’s goal in the 87th minute, and scored two more this Wednesday, even though he did not take 20 shots. They have five points from their three games at Anoeta, and with six away wins already with the third game yet to be played, they could go up to seven or nine. Strength at home will be the key to getting through the round of 16.
