Lewis Hamilton: “Mercedes made a mistake with its new car”
7-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton admits Mercedes has failed to transition to new technical regulations, so this season is getting tough.
“Verstappen overtaking me by one lap in the last race and finishing 14th shows that Mercedes made a mistake with the new car.
“I said before the season that the team was less likely to make mistakes with the new regulations, but it looks like we did. I can’t say exactly what went wrong.”
“It’s possible we can fix the shortcomings and unlock the car’s potential, but the competitors are too far ahead. We will work,” said Hamilton.
