Tony Brooks has died
Tony Brooks, a British Formula 1 driver, died at the age of 90 with 6 wins and 10 podiums.
The Formula 1 world has lost its “dentist”. 90-year-old Tony Brooks died at the age of days, wiping out an entire era as he was the last living Formula 1 driver to win a 1950s grand prix.
Born in February 1932 in Dockfield, Greater Manchester, Brooks had contested 39 races and finished first in six of them. He was also on the podium of the winners ten times and collected a total of 75 points.
It made its debut in Monaco in 1956 and last “ran” in the USA in 1961. Among other things, he drove for Ferrari.
